Maslow's hierarchy of needs comes into play in our persoanl and professional lives.  We need to be equipped with doable strategies for the various needs and finally transcend and connect to something greater than ourselves.  In Take Time for You: Self-Care Action Plans for Educators by Tina Boogren, You will go step by step through Maslow's hierarchy and create and action plan for each "rung" of the ladder.

The Zones of Regulation by Leah M Keuper is at the core of the SEL work at W-SR.  
Task: 
The best SEL practices are entertwined with good instrution.  Implement the Zones of Regulation into your daily routine.  Note the changes in your classroom.  Books are available in the Instructional Coaches office.  Share what you learned.   ​

All of these books are available in the Instructional Coaches office for checkout.  Using a book study format,
read the book, journal on your learning, and share your learning with someone or group.  Or consider working with another person or group in order to discuss your learning, application, and implementation of content, which adds collaboration to this challenge.

Option 4:  Check out The Power of Character Strengths, The Strengths-Based Workbook for Stress Relief or Character Strengths Interventions  from the Instructional Coaches office and research ways you can use character strengths to your advantage in your classroom.
